National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India established its Regional Centre in Haridwar in 2017. Over a period of time, the Centre has augmented "Digital India" vision of Government of India by skill development and capacity building of the youth of the region. The Centre provides trainings on advanced technologies, future skills, digital literacy and skill development courses in the areas of Electronics and Information Technology besides many awareness programmes, webinars & workshops on "Digital Payment", "E-Governance Services", "Cyber Security" and "E-Waste Management". Apart from the above, Centre has conducted Digital Literacy Certification exams for more than 1.5 Lakh candidates in the state of Uttarakhand in a short span of three years.
